Nineteenth Annual Wendish Festival

The Taylor Czech Chorus will be the featured performers at the 19th Annual Wendish Fest on Sunday, September 23, 2007. The chorus, a group of 25 singers and 5 musicians, was organized in 1968 for the purpose of preserving the heritage of Czech music.

St. Paul Church

Worship services at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin are at 8:30 a.m. (sermon will be in English) and at 10:30 a.m. (sermon will be in German). Rev. Roland Ziegler (Concordia Theological Seminary of Fort Wayne, IN) will be the guest preacher.

Noon meal tickets available from 9:45 a.m. till 1:30 p.m.

Adults $6.50, children 12 and under $3.00.

All Take-out plates $6.50.

Soft drinks, water and desserts are available.

The traditional Wendish meal includes sausage, green beans, sauerkraut, noodles, beets, peaches, bread, and coffee or tea..

Snack booths open at 2:30 p.m. and will offer sausage and sauerkraut boats, sausage wraps, Wendish noodles, desserts and other goodies.

Washer-Pitching Contest
(sign-up 1:30 p.m. sharp). Contest begins at 2:00 p.m.

Cross-Cut Saw Contest - 4:45 p.m.

Children's activities include a coloring contest at 1:30 p.m.; train rides (all day), stick horse races, face painting, and many other activities.

Activities at the Museum complex Wendish Easter Egg Decorating: Kornelia Thor from Germany, and Susan and Michael Unger from Houston, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
